The Furuno VR-7000 is a marine Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) designed to continuously collect and store critical navigational, operational, bridge-audio, VHF-audio and sensor information. The recorded information can be used to investigate marine accidents and improve navigational safety.
The VR-7000S is the Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR) version, intended for vessels subject to S-VDR carriage requirements. The system uses a Data Collecting Unit (DCU), Data Recording Unit (DRU), microphones, sensor interfaces, video LAN converters and a remote alarm panel.
