The Icom IC-M804 is a long-range Class E DSC MF/HF Single Sideband (SSB) radiotelephone system manufactured by Icom Inc. in Japan. Designed for commercial workboats, offshore fishing vessels, and long-range ocean cruisers, the IC-M804 delivers 125 Watts of transmission power and provides reliable voice and digital selective calling (DSC) communications over extreme distances.
The system features a remote-head color TFT LCD display with wide viewing angles, continuous night-mode dimming, and an intuitive user interface. Equipped with an integrated GNSS receiver and antenna, the IC-M804 constantly tracks position data for automated DSC distress alerting. Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology actively filters background atmospheric noise and extracts weak radio signals, while built-in NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 interfaces ensure seamless integration with modern vessel navigation networks.
Key Features:
• Class E DSC Compliant: Meets ITU-R M.493-15 Class E DSC standards with a dedicated DSC watch receiver for automatic distress and safety monitoring.
• Integrated GNSS Receiver: Includes a multi-constellation GNSS receiver (GPS, GLONASS, SBAS) with an external antenna for accurate position tracking in DSC calls.
• Color TFT LCD & Night Mode: High-resolution 3.5-inch color display with day/night modes for clear readability in bright sunlight or dark wheelhouses.
• Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Filters atmospheric noise and engine interference to deliver crisp, legible audio reception.
• Instant Replay Function: Internal audio memory automatically records up to two minutes of incoming audio for instant playback of missed radio calls.
• NMEA 2000 & NMEA 0183 Integration: Interfaces directly with onboard chartplotters, multifunction displays, and GPS systems to share navigation data.
