The Garmin GPSMAP® 8612 with built-in Garmin Navionics+™ is a flagship 12-inch chartplotter designed for the North American market. It upgrades the standard “Worldwide Basemap” found on the 8400 series by including high-detail coastal and inland cartography directly out of the box
The preloaded Garmin Navionics+™ provides comprehensive coverage for the following regions:
United States: Full coverage of all coastal waters, plus more than 42,000 lakes, rivers, and inland waterways (including Alaska and Hawaii).
Canada: Detailed coastal coverage for British Columbia, the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
International: Coverage extends to Bermuda, the Bahamas, Baja California, the Gulf of California, Johnston Atoll, and Palmyra Atoll/Kingman Reef.

Note on Sonar: The standard GPSMAP 8612 is a non-sonar unit. For built-in sonar support (CHIRP, ClearVü, and SideVü), the 8612xsv model is required, or an external GSD™ sonar module must be networked to this unit.
