CB-100 Junction Box – Technical Specification

Function:
Central junction box for interfacing external sensors, inputs, and outputs with the Furuno FA-100 Class A AIS transponder.

Connections:

• GPS input – NMEA 0183/2000 compatible

• VHF input/output – for transponder integration

• Sensor inputs:

  • Gyrocompass

  • Rate-of-turn devices

• Alarms and indicators: External audio/visual alarms

• The CB-100 is used as the junction box between the FA-100 AIS transponder and external sensors, antennas, power, etc. Furuno 

• The recommended cable between the junction box and the pilot plug is twisted cable TTYCS-4

• The coaxial antenna cable should be RG-10U/Y or better.

• The CB-100 should be mounted in a location protected from rain and splashing. The junction box comes with ~3.3 m cable (to the transponder).

• Electrical specs: the CB-100 supports (and interfaces) various signals (RS-422 ports, alarm outputs, sensor inputs) and is powered from 12–24 VDC (in the AIS system architecture)

• The CB-100 enclosure dimensions (for the “CB100A” variant) are about 150 × 100 × 50 mm with ~0.5 kg weight.
