The NAS-1000 is an AIS-based search-and-rescue transponder designed to transmit the survivor’s position to nearby AIS-equipped vessels. It alternately transmits on AIS 1 and AIS 2 and uses an integrated GNSS receiver for position information. The current NSR brochure specifies ≥96 hours operating time, ≥5 NM communication range, and support for GPS/GLONASS/BDS.
