The Samyung SAR-16 is a compact AIS Search and Rescue Transponder (AIS-SART) designed to transmit the position of a survival craft to nearby AIS-equipped vessels and rescue units. It incorporates a GPS receiver and automatically transmits distress-location information within approximately one minute. It can be operated automatically or manually and provides LED and buzzer indications during operation.
