The NSR NAN-1000, NAN-2000, NAN-4000 and NAN-5000 are Type I AIS Aid to Navigation (AtoN) stations designed for monitoring and identifying marine navigation aids such as buoys, lighthouses, offshore platforms and other fixed or floating navigation structures.
The equipment transmits AIS information containing the AtoN identification, name, position and status. These transmissions can be received by shipborne AIS equipment and displayed on electronic navigation charts, helping vessels identify navigation marks and their locations.
The NAN series supports both real and virtual AIS AtoN functions, with the capability to transmit information for up to 50 virtual AtoNs. The four models have different antenna arrangements and physical designs to suit different installation requirements.
