The AMI Marine Vessel Locator Kit (KIT-0056) is a compact underwater vessel-location system designed primarily for workboats and smaller commercial vessels under 3000 GRT. It provides a simple, fit-and-forget method of locating a vessel if it becomes submerged, supporting salvage operations, emergency response and environmental protection.
The kit incorporates a PT9-NINETY Underwater Locator Beacon, installed in a dedicated mounting bracket. When submerged, the beacon automatically activates and transmits a 37.5 kHz acoustic signal for up to 90 days, allowing the vessel to be located underwater. The beacon has a stated three-year battery life, with AMI recommending periodic testing using the compatible acoustic beacon tester.
