Jotron Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) with Bolt FB-60 / FB-40 / FBH-40 – Part No. 86218
The Jotron Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) is a safety-critical component designed for float-free EPIRB installations. This HRU kit is specifically approved for use with the Jotron Tron 60S EPIRB and compatible mounting brackets FB-60, FB-40, and FBH-40.
In the event of a vessel sinking, the HRU automatically activates at a depth of approximately 1.5–4 meters, cutting the securing bolt and releasing the EPIRB from its bracket. The EPIRB then floats to the surface and activates automatically, transmitting a distress signal to aid search and rescue operations.
The kit includes a hydrostatic release mechanism (HAMMAR-type) and a single-use securing bolt, both of which must be replaced at each service interval. The HRU has a mandatory replacement period of 2 years in accordance with SOLAS and manufacturer requirements.
