The SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART is a compact, manually deployed AIS Search & Rescue Transponder designed for use in liferafts and survival craft. It uses an integrated multi-channel GPS receiver to determine the survivor’s position and transmits structured AIS distress information, including position and a unique identification number, to nearby AIS-equipped vessels and search-and-rescue units.
The unit is highly portable, floats, is waterproof to 10 m, and provides a minimum 96-hour operating life after activation. It is designed to meet the applicable IMO/SOLAS requirements for AIS-SART equipment.
