The JRC JLN-900 is an integrated dual-mode speed log designed for vessels exceeding 50,000 GT to meet IMO MSC.334(90) regulations. Unlike single-axis logs (like the JLN-740A), the JLN-900 integrates both Speed Through Water (STW) and Speed Over Ground (SOG) into a single transducer assembly through a single hull penetration, saving significant installation costs.
Single Hull Penetration for >50,000 GT Compliance: Meets IMO mandates requiring independent STW and SOG measuring devices by using fully separated internal processing channels fed through a single gate valve (NKF-980) and combined transducer (CFT-780).
4-Axis Measurement:
STW: 1-axis (Longitudinal / Fore-Aft).
SOG: 3-axis (Longitudinal, Transverse Fore, and Transverse Aft) using gyro heading input for precise docking assistance.
Acoustic Correlation Technology: Uses multi-transducers emitting vertical ultrasonic waves to eliminate errors caused by water temperature, salinity, or speed-of-sound variations.
High Depth Capability: Measures SOG down to bottom depths of 250 meters below the transducer.
