The Raymarine Pathfinder 22 Commercial Radar System (Pack T70593) is an IMO type-approved CAT 2 SOLAS X-band navigation system engineered for vessels between 500 GT and 10,000 GT. At its core, the system replaces traditional high-maintenance magnetrons with a cutting-edge 110W solid-state transmitter featuring CHIRP pulse compression. This advanced configuration matches or exceeds the target detection performance of traditional 12kW units, while delivering razor-sharp target separation down to a maximum range of 96 nautical miles with zero warm-up time.
The bridge interface centers around the E70663-IMO 22-inch display, which features a high-brightness 1,275-nit screen with a protective HydroTough™ hydrophobic nano-coating to ensure superior daylight visibility and resist water, salt, and oil contamination. Navigators benefit from professional-grade situational awareness tools, including an advanced tracking processor capable of managing up to 100 ARPA targets and a massive 4,000 active AIS targets simultaneously. The system also supports high-speed dynamic tracking with variable antenna rotation speeds up to 60 RPM, ensuring real-time position updates during high-speed maneuvers or complex traffic situations.
System connectivity is anchored by the A80792 Data Collection Unit (DCU), which provides robust, isolated interfacing for essential shipboard sensors such as the Master Gyrocompass, Speed Log, GPS, and AIS. The DCU features 8 opto-isolated inputs and 6 ISO-Drive outputs to prevent electrical interference and ground-loops, alongside three Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) RayNet Gigabit ports that comply with international IEC 61162-450 network standards. For critical safety monitoring, the unit also includes a dedicated hardware alarm relay that instantly interfaces with the vessel’s central bridge alert system in the event of target threats or sensor faults.
