The Koden KC-2000 is a “Smart and Small” Multi-GNSS Compass system. While it shares many of the high-end processing features of the KC-1400, it is designed as a more compact, space-saving solution for vessels where bridge real estate is at a premium.
The KC-2000 is an all-in-one satellite compass that provides highly accurate Heading, Position, Speed, and 3-axis motion data (Rolling, Pitching, and Heaving). It is primarily used to provide stabilized data to Radars (for North-Up display), Autopilots, and Sonars. Like its larger siblings, it features a built-in high-precision gyro to maintain heading during short GNSS signal interruptions.
Key Features
-
Multi-GNSS Reception: Simultaneously tracks GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS for superior reliability in heavy weather or narrow channels.
-
Ultra-Compact Design: Specifically engineered for “space-saving” installations without sacrificing the professional accuracy required for commercial operations.
-
Heaving Compensation: Outputs precise vertical motion data (Heave) to compatible echo sounders to remove wave-induced “sawtooth” patterns from the bottom display.
-
Maintenance-Free: Unlike a traditional gyrocompass, the KC-2000 has no moving parts and requires no regular mechanical servicing or “settling time” beyond the initial satellite lock.
-
SBAS Enabled: Utilizes WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS corrections to bring position accuracy down to approximately 3 meters.
