The YDK Technologies (formerly Yokogawa Denshi Kiki) EML500 is an IMO-compliant electromagnetic speed log system widely installed across commercial fleets, container ships, and tankers. Utilizing Faraday’s law of induction, it delivers continuous, real-time Speed Through Water (STW) and distance tracking without moving parts protruding from the hull.
