The SI-TEX MDA-1 Metadata is a compact Class B AIS transceiver module designed for recreational vessels, fishing boats, workboats, and smaller commercial vessels. It provides both AIS transmission and reception, allowing the vessel to transmit its identification and position data while receiving AIS information from surrounding vessels.
The MDA-1 uses an internal 50-channel GPS smart antenna, eliminating the need for an external GPS antenna in many installations. For reliable internal GPS reception, the unit should be installed where it has a clear view of the sky.
The transceiver uses SI-TEX Rmax AIS technology for real-time AIS message decoding and supports easy integration with chartplotters, radars, onboard PCs, and other navigation equipment through NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, and USB interfaces. The compact enclosure is rated IPX7 waterproof.
