The SAAB R6 SUPREME AIS is a modern Class A shipborne Automatic Identification System (AIS) developed by Saab TransponderTech for SOLAS and commercial vessels. It is a next-generation platform using Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology and is also designed to support the transition toward VDES (VHF Data Exchange System). Saab states that the R6 Supreme is type-approved for AIS and provides AIS receiver sensitivity better than −118 dBm.
