The NSR NES-1000 ECS (Electronic Chart System) is a marine navigation system designed to display electronic nautical charts and assist with route planning and voyage monitoring. It integrates navigation data from onboard sensors, including GNSS/GPS, AIS, heading sensors and other compatible equipment, to provide navigational information on a colour display. The system supports chart zooming, AIS target monitoring, CPA/TCPA alerts and electronic chart updates, helping operators improve situational awareness and navigation efficiency. Unlike a type-approved ECDIS, an ECS does not automatically satisfy the mandatory ECDIS carriage requirements for SOLAS vessels.
