The Furuno FMD-3005 is an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) designed for commercial vessels, workboats, and integrated bridge systems. It provides high-speed chart rendering and multi-function capabilities to streamline bridge operations.
Multifunction Display (MFD) Integration: Combines ECDIS, Conning Information Display, Radar/Chart Radar, and Alert Management System (AMS) capabilities into a unified display interface.
Task-Based User Interface: Features a top Status Bar and a side InstantAccess bar™, allowing operators to quickly access navigational functions without navigating complex menus.
Instantaneous Chart Redraw: Uses Furuno’s advanced chart drawing engine to eliminate redraw latency when zooming or panning.
Radar & Sensor Connectivity:
Interfaces via Ethernet with Furuno FAR-2xx8 and FAR-2xx7 series radars for radar overlays, target tracking, and route data exchange.
Equipped with 8 serial I/O ports on the processor.
Supports central sensor adapters (MC-3000 series) to distribute sensor data across networked ECDIS and radar units.
Display & Control Options: Selectable 27″ wide LCD monitor (Model: MU-270W) and operation via either the RCU-024 full keyboard control unit or RCU-026 trackball unit.
Regulatory Compliance: Complies with IACS UR E27 standards, as well as IMO and IEC standards for navigational safety (IEC 61174 Ed. 4, IEC 62288 Ed. 3, etc.).
