The Lilley & Gillie SR4 is an advanced, MED-approved Class A magnetic compass engineered for commercial ships, naval vessels, and offshore fleets. Revolving around a major breakthrough in compass manufacturing, the SR4 features a precision-molded polycarbonate compound body rather than a traditional brass bowl. This seamless construction completely eliminates seam corrosion and fluid leaks, preventing the formation of obstructive air bubbles over the compass card.

Designed for maximum light entry, its semi-transparent body enhances day and night visibility. The SR4 is externally gimballed and features a standard 175mm card diameter, making it suitable as a main magnetic steering or reflector compass on vessels of any tonnage. It integrates seamlessly into binnacle systems (such as the Sestrel Mk2020S and Mk2002S) as well as overhead deckhead and desk mounting brackets.
