The JRC NQW‑267 is the dedicated handset used in JRC FleetBroadband (FB) systems, such as models JUE‑250, JUE‑251, JUE‑500, and JUE‑501. It functions as the voice interface for the terminal, allowing users to make and receive calls over the satellite link. The handset is relatively compact (weighing about 0.5 kg) and connects to the Below Deck Unit (BDU) via a handset interface port. It features a cradle or rest for storage when not in use, and integrates indicator LEDs or display elements to show system or call status. The unit is built to the same environmental tolerances required in marine applications: it can operate under typical shipboard temperature and humidity ranges, although it is generally rated with minimal ingress protection (often IPX0) since it is intended for indoor (below-deck) installation. In operation, the NQW‑267 becomes the primary user interface for dialing, call control, and monitoring call status in the FleetBroadband system.
