The JRC JUE-87 is an Inmarsat-C Mobile Earth Station (MES), Class 2, designed for global maritime satellite data communication and GMDSS safety services. It supports commercial, operational and personal messaging as well as distress and safety communications. The terminal includes Enhanced Group Calling (EGC), LRIT, self-diagnostics, remote maintenance capability, and interfaces for navigation, alarms, AIS, distress and security functions. An SSAS function can be added using the optional security button system.
