Jotron TRON 60S is a compact, buoyant 406 MHz GMDSS Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) designed for maritime search-and-rescue applications. The unit transmits a distress alert through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system and includes a 121.5 MHz homing transmitter for final-stage locating by rescue forces.
When installed in the FB-60 float-free bracket, the EPIRB can automatically release from a sinking vessel. The hydrostatic release mechanism releases the beacon at approximately 2–4 m water depth, allowing it to float to the surface and begin distress transmission.
Description
The Tron 60S is a tamper-resistant GMDSS EPIRB with a sealed, glass-reinforced polycarbonate housing. A high-intensity LED mounted at the top of the antenna improves visibility during nighttime or poor-weather rescue operations. The unit is water-activated when deployed and is suitable for installation in an automatic float-free arrangement.
