The Icom SM-30 is a compact, high-performance desktop microphone manufactured by Icom Inc. in Japan. Purpose-built for base station operation with Icom HF, VHF, and UHF transceivers, the SM-30 delivers crisp voice transmission across maritime shore stations, bridge radio desks, and long-range commercial communications.
Featuring a gooseneck electret condenser element on a weighted die-cast base, the SM-30 incorporates dedicated Push-To-Talk (PTT) and PTT Lock switches for hands-free or continuous broadcasting. The microphone base includes an adjustable low-cut filter switch on the underside to minimize low-frequency background hum and vessel cabin noise, alongside an adjustable mic gain trimpot for precise audio level control.
Key Features:
• Compact Desktop Form Factor: Small-footprint weighted base engineered for stability on busy bridge control consoles and desk stations.
• Unidirectional Electret Element: Delivers clear, high-intelligibility voice pickup while attenuating ambient room noise.
• Integrated PTT & Lock Switches: Features a tactile PTT switch and a lock button for extended transmission sessions without continuous pressure.
