Delivering 5 watts of transmit power using Class B/SO SOTDMA technology, the unit continuously processes AIS target vectors, calculating Closest Point of Approach (CPA) and Time to CPA (TCPA) to trigger intelligent, situational audio and visual safety alerts before critical close-quarters situations develop. Beyond collision prevention, the M1 acts as a 24/7 vessel monitoring station with built-in sensors and external inputs for tracking battery levels, bilge pumps, shore power, and geofence locations—relaying real-time updates directly to compatible chartplotters, Cortex handsets, or remotely to your smartphone via the Cortex Monitor app. Featuring integrated NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, Wi-Fi, and a built-in 10-Hz GPS receiver, the IPX7 waterproof unit seamlessly bridges vessel data across marine networks, and can be upgraded at any time to add full Class D DSC VHF functionality simply by pairing it with a Cortex H1 or H1P handset.
