The Furuno GP-340 is a next-generation, high-performance GNSS receiver designed to serve as the primary position sensor for modern bridge systems. Unlike standalone navigators with screens, the GP-340 is a compact “smart antenna” that provides extremely fast and accurate data to MFDs (like NavNet TZtouch), Radars, and Autopilots via NMEA2000 or NMEA0183.
The GP-340 is engineered for versatile installation on any vessel type. It features a powerful 75-channel GNSS core that allows it to track multiple satellite constellations simultaneously. This multi-system approach ensures that you maintain a precise position fix even in difficult conditions where a single-constellation receiver (GPS-only) might struggle.
Key Features
-
Multi-Constellation Tracking: Simultaneously utilizes GPS (L1/L5), GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS for maximum reliability.
-
Dual-Frequency Support: Capable of receiving both L1 and L5 signals (where applicable) to significantly reduce errors caused by atmospheric interference.
-
10 Hz Update Rate: Refreshes position, speed, and course data 10 times per second ($0.1s$ intervals), resulting in exceptionally smooth tracking on chart plotters and radar overlays.
-
Plug-and-Play Integration: Comes standard with an NMEA2000 (Micro-C) connector for easy “daisy-chain” networking.
-
Sub-3 Meter Accuracy: Enhanced by SBAS augmentation (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN) to provide pinpoint positioning.
-
Compact & Rugged: Designed to be deck-mounted or mast-mounted with a small footprint and an IP56 waterproof rating to withstand harsh marine exposure.
