The NSR NVR-9000 is a marine Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) designed to continuously record and store essential navigation, communication, bridge audio, radar and vessel operational data.
It works similarly to an aircraft black box and helps investigators analyse incidents, accidents and vessel operations. The system records data from connected navigation equipment, microphones, VHF communication systems and radar/ECDIS displays.
The NVR-9000 uses Fixed Protective Capsule (FPC), Float-Free Capsule (FFC) and Long-Term Recording Unit (LRU) to preserve recorded information. It supports both VDR and Simplified VDR (S-VDR) configurations.
