The Kannad Marine Rescuer 2 SART is a 9 GHz X-band Radar Search & Rescue Transponder designed for use in lifeboats and liferafts. When interrogated by an X-band radar from a rescue vessel or aircraft, the SART generates a characteristic radar response that enables rescuers to determine the bearing and approximate range of the survival craft.
