The Furuno FS-5075 is a high-power 500-Watt MF/HF SSB radiotelephone system manufactured by Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. in Japan. Designed as the highest-output model in Furuno’s GMDSS communication series, the FS-5075 is engineered for deep-sea ocean vessels, large merchant ships, and naval auxiliaries operating in GMDSS Sea Areas A2, A3, and A4 where ultra-reliable, long-range maritime radio coverage is critical.
The system incorporates a Class A Digital Selective Calling (DSC) transceiver and a dedicated 6-channel DSC watch receiver. Built around the FS-2575C control unit with a 4.3-inch color LCD screen, the FS-5075 utilizes Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to deliver clear voice reception and secure data transmission across extreme distances. The system fully meets IMO SOLAS carriage requirements and supports direct connection to an optional Narrow Band Direct Printing (NBDP/Telex) terminal.
Key Features:
• Maximum 500W Transmission Power: Delivers high-power radio frequency output for long-range communication under adverse ionospheric propagation conditions.
• SOLAS & GMDSS Class A Compliant: Meets IMO performance standards and ITU-R M.493-14/13 recommendations for mandatory shipboard safety communication.
• Continuous 6-Channel DSC Watch Receiver: Simultaneously monitors all six GMDSS distress and safety frequencies (2187.5, 4207.5, 6312.0, 8414.5, 12577.0, and 16804.5 kHz).
• High-Contrast Color LCD Interface: 4.3-inch TFT display (480×272 pixels) with adjustable backlighting and dedicated night-watch display modes.
• Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Filters atmospheric noise and interference to improve signal-to-noise ratios on long-distance voice calls.
• Telex (NBDP) Expansion Ready: Connects directly with the optional IB-585 terminal for maritime telex messaging and SafetyNET broadcast logging.
