The Marinelite GSL9000 Satellite Speed and Distance Measuring Equipment (SDME) is an advanced satellite-based marine navigation system designed to provide highly accurate Speed Over Ground (SOG), Course Over Ground (COG), vessel movement, and distance information using multi-GNSS satellite technology. Unlike conventional Doppler or electromagnetic speed logs, the GSL9000 does not require hull-mounted transducers, making it an ideal solution for both new vessel installations and retrofit projects. It delivers reliable performance regardless of water depth, seabed conditions, salinity, temperature, or sea state.
The system utilizes GPS, GLONASS, and other GNSS constellations together with advanced carrier-phase positioning and intelligent filtering algorithms to provide precise real-time navigation data. Separate satellite antennas accurately determine vessel heading, longitudinal movement, and transverse movement, assisting the bridge team during docking, maneuvering, dynamic positioning, and coastal navigation. The GSL9000 complies with international IMO and IEC 61023 requirements for Speed and Distance Measuring Equipment (SDME), making it suitable for commercial ships, offshore vessels, ferries, research ships, and fishing vessels.
The system features a 7-inch color LCD touchscreen display with an intuitive user interface and supports standard NMEA 0183 communication for seamless integration with ECDIS, Radar, AIS, Autopilot, Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), GPS, and Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS). With no underwater sensors or moving mechanical parts, the GSL9000 offers maintenance-free operation, simplified installation, and dependable long-term performance in all weather and sea conditions.
