The Simrad ECS900 MK15B 21” 4S System is a professional Electronic Chart System (ECS) engineered for light commercial vessels, workboats, fishing fleets, and non-SOLAS vessels requiring compliant electronic navigation software.
Unlike full SOLAS ECDIS units, the ECS900 series focuses on fast, reliable, fan-less operation using high-grade Maritime Flat Panel PC hardware designed for long operational lifespans with low power consumption. The “4S” variant features 4 built-in NMEA 0183 (RS422) ports for direct sensor wiring without external multiplexers.
Integrated Flat Panel Architecture: Combines an industrial-grade 21-inch display and marine PC engine into a single space-saving housing, making it ideal for compact bridge layouts.
Fan-less & Low-Power Hardware: Utilizes a solid-state, fan-less architecture designed for high thermal stability, silent operation, and long-term continuous duty at sea.
Advanced Route & SAR Tools: Includes route planning modules alongside specialized Search and Rescue (SAR) pattern generation (Expanding Square, Sector, Parallel Tracks).
Precision Navigation Assistance: Features the Predictor module (position vector projection in narrow channels) and Docking Assistant (displays bow/stern distance and approach velocity).
Integrated Logbook & Replay: Automatically records voyage events, target tracks, and alarms for historical playback.
