JRC, JFE-680 ECHOSOUNDER

The JRC JFE-680 is a digital marine echo sounder designed for safe navigation on SOLAS vessels, providing continuous and accurate measurement of water depth beneath the ship. It represents an intermediate-generation system between older analog models (like JFE-570) and newer digital systems (like JFE-700).

The JFE-680 operates by:

Sending ultrasonic sound pulses from a hull-mounted transducer
Receiving echoes reflected from the seabed
Calculating depth based on the time taken for the signal to return
Displaying depth numerically and graphically on the screen
