RG-8U-10M is a pre-cut, 10-meter (approx. 33 feet) length of high-quality RG-8/U coaxial cable, typically pre-terminated with connectors (often PL-259/UHF Male) for immediate use in maritime or land-based radio stations.
RG-8/U is a thick, 50-ohm cable designed for high-power radio frequency (RF) transmission. In the maritime world, it is the “standard” choice for connecting VHF radios, AIS transponders, and HF/SSB equipment to their respective antennas.
Low Loss: Because it is significantly thicker than standard RG-58 cable, it has much lower signal “attenuation” (loss), ensuring more of your radio’s power actually reaches the antenna.
Flexibility: The “U” in RG-8/U stands for Universal, typically featuring a stranded center conductor (rather than a solid one) which makes the cable easier to route through the tight conduits and cable trays of a ship.
