The Marinelite VHF9000 Class D is the semi-professional version of the VHF9000 series. While it shares the same robust chassis and interface as the Class A model, it is specifically tailored for workboats, fishing vessels, and large yachts that require Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) but are not mandated by SOLAS to carry Class A equipment.
It is a highly reliable, compact unit that features a hybrid control system, making it one of the most user-friendly radios in its class.
-
Hybrid Control Interface: Combines a high-resolution Touchscreen for quick menu navigation with a Physical Rotary Knob for precise volume and channel adjustments—crucial for operation in rough seas or when wearing gloves.
-
Class D DSC Functionality: Includes a dedicated receiver for constant monitoring of Channel 70. This allows for automated distress alerts and direct “ship-to-ship” calling using MMSI numbers.
-
IP67 Waterproofing: The unit is fully protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, making it suitable for exposed flybridges or open consoles.
-
Dual/Tri-Watch Modes: Allows the operator to monitor Channel 16 and/or a call channel while simultaneously listening to a working channel.
-
Integrated GNSS Support: Can be interfaced with an external GPS/GNSS source via NMEA 0183 to ensure that your precise coordinates are automatically included in any distress transmissions.
-
Clear-Voice Technology: Advanced audio processing reduces ambient wind and engine noise, ensuring that both transmitted and received audio is sharp and intelligible.
