The Intellian PB-T901P (more commonly known as the BP-T901P) is the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) for the Intellian i-Series (specifically i3, i4, i6, and i9) and s6HD satellite TV systems.
Replacing or extending these cables requires specific marine-grade standards to avoid signal loss or damage to the ACU.
1. Satellite TV Antenna Cable (RF Cable)
The cable connecting the Antenna (Dome) to the ACU is a high-frequency coaxial cable.
-
Standard Type: RG-6 Coaxial Cable (75 Ohm).
-
Connectors: F-Type (Male) on both ends.
-
Standard Length: Typically supplied as a 15m (49ft) or 30m (98ft) assembly.
-
Key Requirement: If you are making your own, use Solid Copper (SC) core cable rather than Copper Clad Steel (CCS). Since the antenna receives its power through this coax cable (Power-over-Coax), a solid copper core is necessary to prevent excessive voltage drop.
2. Power Cable
The power cable connects the ACU to the vessel’s battery system or power distribution panel.
-
Standard Type: 2-Core Marine Power Cable.
-
Standard Length: Typically supplied as a 10m (33ft) assembly.
-
Voltage Range: The ACU accepts 9V to 30V DC (12V/24V systems).
-
Power Consumption: Typically 30W, with a maximum peak of 50W during initial satellite acquisition.
-
Connector: Uses a proprietary 3-pin power connector (often labeled AK950-3 in Intellian manuals).
