The JRC JCY-1950 is a modern Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR) developed from JRC’s JCY-1900 VDR platform. It is intended particularly for S-VDR replacement/retrofit applications where older S-VDR equipment is no longer supported.
The JCY-1950 conforms to the revised S-VDR performance standard MSC.493(104). Unlike the full JCY-1900 VDR, the JCY-1950 uses one protective capsule, with the installation selectable as either a fixed capsule or a float-free capsule, subject to classification/Flag State requirements.
