The SAMYUNG ENC SEP-500 is a 406 MHz GPS EPIRB designed for maritime GMDSS and Cospas-Sarsat search-and-rescue applications. It incorporates a 16-channel GPS receiver to transmit more accurate distress-position information to the rescue coordination system. It operates on both 406 MHz for satellite distress alerting and 121.5 MHz for homing.
