The JRC JQE-103 is a 406 MHz satellite EPIRB designed for the GMDSS/Cospas-Sarsat maritime search-and-rescue system. In an emergency, it transmits a 406 MHz distress signal and a 121.5 MHz homing signal, with automatic or manual activation. The automatic float-free arrangement uses a water-pressure release mechanism.
