The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB2 is a compact 406 MHz Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) designed for maritime emergency and search-and-rescue operations. It combines 406 MHz satellite distress alerting, GNSS positioning, 121.5 MHz homing, and Return Link Service (RLS) technology.
The EPIRB2 transmits a distress alert through the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. Its integrated 72-channel multi-constellation GNSS receiver uses GPS, Galileo and GLONASS for accurate position information. The RLS function provides confirmation back to the beacon when the distress message and location have been received.
