The Consilium BW-800 is a Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) designed to monitor the activity and alertness of the Officer of the Watch (OOW). If no activity or reset action is detected within the selected dormant period, the system initiates a sequence of visual and audible alarms.
The system first alerts the OOW on the bridge. If the alarm is not acknowledged, subsequent alarm stages alert the Master, backup officer, or other designated personnel, helping to reduce the risk of accidents caused by incapacitation or inattention.
The BW-800 supports manual and automatic operating modes, adjustable dormant periods, external reset inputs from bridge equipment such as radar or ECDIS, and integration with the ship’s autopilot/track control system. It also provides an NMEA 0183 alarm output for VDR recording.
