The SIMRAD V5035 is an IMO Type-Approved Class A AIS transponder designed for SOLAS, commercial and professional vessels. It is also approved for Inland AIS applications. The unit is a compact, single-box AIS solution incorporating the AIS transceiver, integrated GPS receiver, controller and 3.5-inch colour LCD display.
The system uses two AIS TDMA receivers, one DSC receiver and one AIS transmitter. It provides automatic transmission and reception of vessel identification, position, speed, course, heading and voyage-related information. The V5035 can interface with external navigation systems such as ECDIS, radar, VDR, GPS/GNSS and other bridge equipment through IEC 61162/NMEA interfaces.
