The SAAB R4 AIS is a Class A Shipborne Automatic Identification System (AIS) Transponder System developed by Saab TransponderTech AB for commercial/SOLAS vessels. It automatically transmits and receives vessel identification, position, course, speed, heading and voyage-related information using the maritime VHF AIS channels.
