The Danelec Marine DM800 ECDIS System is a heavy-duty, IMO type-approved Electronic Chart Display and Information System. Designed for ocean-going SOLAS vessels requiring high sensor-density and full system redundancy, the DM800 serves as the expanded, multi-port core of Danelec’s bridge navigation portfolio.
Unlike the compact DM700 (which features 5 serial channels), the DM800 main processor unit comes equipped with 12 serial channels and 4 Ethernet ports. It uses a dedicated front-end computer to manage data traffic and prevent signal disruption across bridge sensors during system updates or restarts.

Dedicated Sensor Integration Hub: Features 12 built-in serial ports, eliminating the need for external NMEA junction boxes or serial-to-Ethernet converters on complex bridge setups.

Dedicated Front-End Data Handling: Manages serial and network data pipelines independently, ensuring sensor data flow (GPS, Gyro, Speed Log) remains active even during software restarts or maintenance cycles.

Interoperable ECDIS Clusters: Fully interoperable with other DM800 and DM700 units in clusters of up to 4 stations. Sensor data connected to one unit is automatically synchronized across the local network.

SWAP Technology (SoftWare Advanced Protection): Stores all licenses, configuration files, and system parameters on a removable memory module for rapid hardware swaps during field service.

UPS-Free Type Approval: Wheelmark-approved by DNV GL for operation without a dedicated Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) when connected to main AC and backup DC power sources.
