The ONWA KMD-210 is a professional-grade NMEA 0183 Distribution Box (also known as a Buffer or Splitter). It is designed to take a single data source—such as a GPS or Heading sensor—and safely “broadcast” that information to up to ten different onboard devices simultaneously, ensuring signal integrity across your entire navigation network.
The KMD-210 solves the problem of signal degradation that occurs when trying to wire multiple listeners (like a Radar, Autopilot, and VHF) to a single talker. It acts as an isolated amplifier, cleaning and boosting the NMEA signal so every connected device receives a perfect data stream.
Its most unique feature is its Dual-Mode flexibility:
-
Auto-Switch Mode: Connect two separate inputs (e.g., two GPS units). If the primary GPS fails, the KMD-210 automatically switches to the backup, providing 10 outputs of the secondary data.
-
Dual Independent Mode: The box can be split to act as two totally separate distribution boxes (e.g., 5 outputs for GPS data and 5 outputs for Heading data).
