The ONWA KA-SC20 is a compact, high-speed Satellite Compass designed as a more affordable and space-saving alternative to the KA-SC90. It is ideal for smaller vessels or high-speed craft that require extremely stable heading data but have limited space for a large antenna array.
The KA-SC20 uses dual-antenna GNSS carrier phase technology (supporting GPS, Beidou, and QZSS) to determine the ship’s heading. Unlike traditional magnetic compasses, it is completely immune to magnetic interference from the vessel’s hull or nearby electronics.
It features a built-in gyroscope compensation system, which maintains accurate heading even during temporary satellite signal loss (such as passing under a bridge). With a heading update rate of 50 times per second, it is one of the most responsive sensors in its class, ensuring that radar overlays and autopilot performance remain “rock solid” even in heavy seas.
