The KAP-866 utilizes an advanced PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control algorithm to maintain a straight course even in challenging sea conditions. It features a high-brightness 4.5-inch silver LCD display and a tactile keypad for reliable operation in wet environments.
One of its key strengths is Auto Trim, which automatically compensates for the effects of wind and current, eliminating the need for manual “Rudder” and “Counter Rudder” adjustments. It can interface with GPS Navigators via NMEA 0183 to follow specific routes or waypoints.
