It is an analog signal-to-digital interface used in Rutter VDR systems (e.g. VDR-100G2).Allows non-NMEA analog data (like voltages / currents from various ship systems) to be converted into NMEA-0183 / IEC 61162 sentences, thereby making analog data recordable by the VDR system.
According to the VDR-100G2 manual, the interface has 8 analog input channels. It can monitor up to 4 separate systems (i.e. 2 analog channels per system) and provides electrical isolation between them.
The module generates NMEA-0183-formatted sentences once per second for each channel based on measured voltage / current.
Power: The DAU (where this module is installed) receives 24 V DC from the DPU. The Data Analog Interface reports its measured analog signal via NMEA sentences.
Supports 8 analog inputs.
Isolation: The module “maintains isolation” between the 4 systems being monitored.
