The ACR GlobalFix V5 is an advanced 406 MHz Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) featuring AIS local alerting, Return Link Service (RLS), multi-GNSS positioning, and 121.5 MHz homing. It transmits distress information through the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite system while simultaneously broadcasting an AIS safety message to nearby AIS-equipped vessels.
The integrated RLS function provides confirmation that the distress alert has been received by the Cospas-Sarsat system. The beacon also features NFC smartphone connectivity, visible and infrared strobe lights, and is available with either a Category I automatic float-free bracket or Category II manual-release bracket.
