The RW-250 is an electronic rudder wheeling unit. Unlike a traditional mechanical helm connected to hydraulic lines, this is a fly-by-wire device. When you turn the wheel on the RW-250, it sends digital signals to the KAP-866 control unit, which then commands the rudder via the boat’s hydraulic pump or mechanical drive.
It is commonly used on:
-
Flybridges: To provide a secondary steering position without running complex hydraulic hoses.
-
Aft Decks: For better visibility while docking or fishing.
-
Steel/Commercial Vessels: Where multiple steering stands are required for maneuvering.
