The SAILOR Mini/Micro NMEA 2000 cables are essential components for building a reliable marine electronics network in SAILOR’s systems. They carry both power and data over the CAN-bus style backbone (NMEA 2000). Choosing the right cable size (Mini vs Micro), correct length, proper routing, and following installation rules ensures your system will work as intended. If you skip those, you risk communication failures or installation non-compliance.
The “Micro” (and “Mini”) designations refer to connector size and cable size types:
-
Micro: the smaller/’thin’ version of NMEA 2000 cable—commonly used for device drops.
-
Mini: the larger version (sometimes called “thick”) used for backbone or longer runs.
